TELRI Course Designer tool

A new online service has been developed that allows the course tutors themselves to set up a web publishing area for their students, in an intuitive and easy-to-use manner, without needing knowledge of UNIX or HTML. The Course Designer tool allows tutors to carry out the following:

  • Create a new course or edit an existing one
  • Specify the access password for the course
  • Specify which services the course will use (i.e. current scripts called on)
  • Specify service options (e.g. allow editing, allow commenting, choose frame layout, etc.)
  • Specify which fields and titles will appear on the student submission form and design the basic look of the form
  • Design the basic look of all the templates used for the course
  • Save any changes automatically to the correct course directory

If you are interested in using the Course Designer tool, please contact the TELRI to get access to the facility.

The TELRI tools were created on a contract basis by Mark Warnes, former Web Editor at Warwick University, now Lime Computer Services Ltd.
